UPDATE: Road closures in Minden Hills

Minden Hills is closing off a number of roads in town because of flooding. Water Street at the intersection of Canadian Tire and Booth Street connecting to Prince Street, which lead into downtown, are closed and only open to local traffic.

On top of that, the Bobcaygeon Road Bridge is now closed. Bobcaygeon Road and Newcastle Street at Highway 35 will be open to downtown traffic for the time being.

The following roads are also still closed:

• Invergordon Street is closed at the Bobcaygeon Road intersection. Drivers can use the Stouffer Street extension at the rear entrance of the S.G Nesbitt Memorial Arena as an alternate route
• Prince Street: Closed at St. Germain Street from Chandois Street to Milne Street. No through traffic in this area.
• Millburn Road: Closed at the intersections of Gelert Road (County Road 1) and County Road 503. Open to local traffic only
• Soyers Lake Road: Closed at the intersections of Blairhampton Road and Alexander Road. Open to local traffic only.
• Orde Street is closed at the Deep Bay Road intersection, but is open to local traffic.
• McKnight Street is closed at the Bobcayeon Road intersection, and is open to local traffic
• Anson Street closed at the intersection of Peck Street, and is open to local traffic
• St. Germaine Street is closed from Pritchard Street to Water Street
• Spring Valley Road is closed at #1268 and is open to local traffic only

The Minden Riverwalk and Boardwalk are underwater and also closed.

There are a few areas to get sand bags in Minden Hills:

• S.G. Nesbitt Community Centre, located at 55 Parkside Street, Minden
•  Roads Department Yard #3, located at 4564 County Road 121 (Kinmount location), in the Sand Dome to the left of the entrance
• Furnace Falls Park entrance, located on County Road 503
• Lady Fatima Catholic Church, 7 Bobcaygeon Road (off of Hwy 35 at the intersection of Bobcaygeon Road and IGA Road)
