News Start thinking about getting an emergency kit together SHARE ON: Taylor Ablett, contributor, Monday, May. 8th, 2017 Emergency Preparedness Week begins today and local officials are reminding everyone to have a plan in place. The Haliburton-Kawartha-Pine Ridge District Health Unit says you should have an emergency kit that will hold you over for 72 hours.
