There’s some family fun happening in Haliburton this weekend. The Haliburton Highlands Outdoor Association is celebrating its 25th anniversary, while the fish hatchery is celebrating 20 years. A day of activities is planned at the fish hatchery on Saturday.

That includes a helicopter the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry uses to stock lakes with fish, a dog show, games, and kids’ entertainment. Admission is free, and volunteers are still needed to help the event run smoothly.

Contact Brianne Pockett at if you can volunteer. The event is running at 6712 Gelert Rd in Haliburton, from 10:00am to 4:00pm.
