The local Lions Club is getting US$10,000 from the Lions Club International Foundation, which provides grant funding for local and global humanitarian Lions club efforts.President of the Minden Hills club, Colleen Mewha says they’ll be using that grant to put together flood relief kits for men, women, and kids. They are going to buy things like water, soap, shampoo and bedding, and then work with the food bank to have the kits available for anyone who might need one.Mewha says they’ll also be working with the Kinmount and Haliburton Lions Club to put the kits together. Once they are ready to go out the Lions Club will be notifying the community.More information about the Lions Club is available on its website.
