State of emergency in Minden Hills has been lifted

The Main Street Bridge in Minden Hills has been re-opened after being closed due to the flood.

The bridge was damaged but a team of divers surveyed the damage and deemed the bridge safe for vehicles.

Minden Hills Reeve Brent Devolin says it is too soon to assess the cost of bridge repairs.

Devolin says now that the worst is over, the township can focus on other priorities.

All other roads in Minden Hills have been re-opened as the state of emergency has been lifted.

Only Water Street from St. Germain Street to Canadian Tire remains closed due to a watermain break.

That stretch of roadway is open to local traffic only.
