Minden’s skies will have some extra colours around noon today.
That’s because the Supportive Initiative for Residents in the County of Haliburton, also known as S.I.R.C.H. is having their “Release of the Butterflies.”
S.I.R.C.H. expects 150 Painted Lady butterflies will be released into the sky.
For a donation of $30, people get a butterfly.

S.I.R.C.H. donates the proceeds to programs that receive little to no government funding, such as their bereavement support group.
The butterflies will be released into the sky at noon along the boardwalk in Minden Hills.
