A report to Haliburton County council says the Gelert Bridge could need big repairs next year.
While looking to see what deck boards on the bridge need replacing, staff noticed exposed rail tips were rotting.
Then ties are exposed, staff say the ties will receive further testing.
The hope of staff is that only the worst rail ties are exposed and no substructure repair is needed.
It was unclear as to when further tests will be done.
