The Haliburton Highlands O.P.P. is keeping an eye on the roads with the long weekend here.

The detachment says it will be on the lookout specifically for: distracted driving, impaired driving, aggressive driving, and drivers not wearing their seatbelts.

Community Safety Officer Dianna Dauphinee wants to remind motorists that if you are caught driving impaired, you receive an automatic 90-day license suspension and get your vehicle impounded for seven days.

Dauphinee wants to stress that if you see someone you suspect may be driving impaired, call 911 immediately.

The O.P.P. will be conducting its Traffic Safety Initiative until Monday.
