Wilberforce Curling Club entrance renovations nearly complete

Work is about 80 per cent complete at the Wilberforce Curling Club’s entrance.

This is according to club Past President Darrell McQuigge who tells the My Haliburton Now newsroom the club spent nearly $48,000 to do the work.

Last week, the federal government announced the club is receiving almost $24,000 towards the repairs.

The funding comes from the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program.

McQuigge says the renovations of the entrance will make the curling club more accessible for anyone with disabilities.

Highlands East Reeve Dave Burton tells the newsroom the remainder of the money will come from the municipality and fundraising by the club.
