An appreciation barbecue for flood volunteers in Minden Hills has been cancelled.
According to the township’s website, there was a low R.S.V.P. response to the September 9th barbecue.
Reeve Brent Devolin tells the My Haliburton Now newsroom most volunteers have no expectations of a formal thank you.
Devolin added Minden will host a volunteer appreciation event at the end of the year in which flood victims will have a chance to thank anyone who lent a hand.
The township declared a state of emergency in May when the area got flooded due to rising water levels in the Gull River.
