Laurie Scott will continue fight against the crime of human trafficking

Laurie Scott says she will continue to fight for victims of human trafficking.

The M.P.P. for Haliburton, Kawartha Lakes, Brock will be joining her colleagues Monday when the legislature resumes.

In the spring sitting, Scott’s Save the Girl Next Door bill was passed, which offers support for victims of human trafficking, and stiffer penalties on handlers.

She says, so far, the government has not followed through on its promises.

Scott says she has spoken to victims services and police in communities like Ottawa, Kingston and Timmins and plans to bring their concerns to Queen’s Park.

The legislature returns September 11th.
