The Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit wants to prevent rabies in pets.

The health unit is teaming up with veterinarians in Haliburton County to offer low-cost rabies vaccination clinics.

According to the H.K.P.R. 288 rabies cases were confirmed in Ontario compared to 24 in 2015.

Public Health Inspector Fran Tsotsos says $30 is a small price to pay for your pet’s well-being.

There will be a rabies vaccination clinic at the Cardiff Community Centre on September 28th from 6:00 p.m.to 7:00 p.m.

Another clinic will be Saturday September 30th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Village of Haliburton at the Pet Valu store.
