With the fall season starting Friday, people may want to think about closing their cottages.

Dysart et al Fire Chief Mike Isles suggests unplugging any appliances that don’t need to be plugged in.

If you have an alarm system at your cottage, Isles recommends to make sure it’s working before you lock up for the winter.

Isles also suggests keeping any flammable products, such as gasoline, away from your property if you won’t be back for a few months.
