Minden Hills is looking for a new Fire Chief for the first time in almost 15 years.

Current Chief Doug Schell handed in his resignation last week and his last day will be next Friday.

Reeve Brent Devolin says the township is thankful for Schell’s hard work.

Devolin also says council will be discussing where the fire department goes from here in the coming meetings.

Schell has been with the Minden fire department for almost 30-years and has the following advice for his successor.

Schell will now work with Haliburton Highlands Health Services as its Manager of Environmental Services and Plant Operations.
