Minden Hills’ Fire Chief of the last 14 years is nearing the end of his tenure.
Doug Schell resigned last week to take a position with Haliburton Highlands Health Services.
Schell will be the new Manager of Environmental Services and Plant Manager for H.H.H.S.
Part of his role will be emergency planning, something Schell says he is no stranger to.

Schell says a major reason he took the position with health services is because he wanted to stay in the county.
Schell says his last day as Minden’s Fire Chief will be next Friday.
Overall, he was been with the fire department for 28 years.
