Borutski trial starts next week with jury selection

Jury selection for the trial against the man accused of killing three women in the Wilno area starts Monday.

Basil Borutski faces three counts of first-degree murder in Ottawa court, for allegedly killing Anastasia Kuzyk, Nathalie Warmerdam, and Carol Culleton over two years ago, in September 2015.

After the jury selection process is finished, the trial is expected to run for 16 weeks.

Borutski’s trial was originally supposed to start on September 18th but was delayed until now. The reason why is under a publication ban. Bortutski has not yet entered a plea or retained a lawyer.
