Hunting season is here and the Haliburton Highlands O.P.P. wants you to be safe outdoors.
Community Safety Officer Dianna Dauphinee says if you in the woods, you should let people know where you are going, and when you will be back.
Dauphinee says preparation is paramount for a safe day of hunting.
She also recommends bringing a map, compass and G.P.S. device with you.

Dauphinee adds you need to follow some rules if you are hunting with a gun.
If you suspect someone is hunting illegally, you can report it to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry’s Tips Line at 1-877-847-7667.
