Highlands East wants to make it easier for professional experts to share their expertise with residents.
Council approved a motion that would allow businesses to have information sessions at municipal facilities rent free.
Councilor Cec Ryall says a couple of years ago, a company held a presentation on new building code requirements regarding property insulation.
Ryall says that session was very beneficial to homeowners and feels the municipality can do that with other things.
Ryall stressed that businesses can use facilities rent free as long as they are providing information to the public, and not using it as an opportunity to pitch products and services.
