Minden Hills no longer has a reeve.

The township is changing the title of the Head of Council to mayor.

Current Mayor Brent Devolin says he has to explain to people on a regular basis what a reeve is.

The title change also applies to councilor Cheryl Murdoch, who is now the Deputy Mayor.

According to the Ontario Municipal Act, there is no difference between a reeve and a mayor.

The only cost to the township is new business cards and stationary.
