Classes at Haliburton School of Art and Design could resume next week

Students at the Haliburton School of Art and Design could be back in class next week.

Premier Kathleen Wynne introduced back-to-work legislation yesterday to put an end to the college faculty strike.

Over 100 students at the Haliburton school have been out of class since the strike started on October 16th.

Haliburton, Kawartha Lakes, Brock M.P.P. Laurie Scott says the Conservative Party supports the legislation, but that the strike should not have gone on this long.

Scott adds the N.D.P. is holding up the passing of the legislation.

The strike affects two full-time faculty members in Haliburton.

Calls and e-mails to Fleming College on exactly when classes will resume have not been returned.
