Dysart could be getting an upgrade to their street lights. Director of Public Works, Brian Nicholson submitted a request to council yesterday to look into installing LED lights for each stop light in the municipality.
Nicholson says energy costs with the current lights run over $48,000 a year and the upgrade could reduce costs by 70 per cent. He also said maintenance costs for the current lights cost close to $11,000. Installing LED lights will reduce those costs with a 20 year lifespan.
Council approved moving forward to receive more information from Local Authority Services.
