Minden Hills to replace waterline along Highway 35

A repair to a waterline along Highway 35 will cost Minden Hills more than originally expected.

Council originally budgeted $50,000 for the work but accepted the only bid that came in, which was at $62,376.

The township applied to the Ministry of Transportation several years ago to replace the waterline servicing the Valumart and the Minden Motel.

While the township was waiting for the permit from the M.T.O. staff discovered the line had been crushed.

The extra $12,376 will come from the water reserves unless there is a departmental surplus.
