Officials in Haliburton aren’t sure if Bill 148 will affect healthcare services.

President and C.E.O. Carolyn Plummer says she doesn’t expect doesn’t expect the minimum wage hike to impact the budget since most staff are payed more than that.

She says lawyers are reviewing the recently passed Fair Workplaces, Better Jobs Act to get a better understanding of its potential ramifications.

Plummer admits not knowing the full scope of the legislation makes it tricky for budget planning.

Bill 148 was passed into law in Queen’s Park last week.
