Some of Haliburton County’s Canada Day events are receiving funding this year. Local MP Barry Devolin announced $43,000 is going toward Canada Day events. Devolin says the success of events is due to the volunteers and that the events have become tradition in the county.
The following organizations and municipalities are receiving funding for their Canada Day celebrations taking place from June 26 to July 1.
- Apsley Lions Club – $3,100
- Beaverton Lions Club – $3,300
- Buckhorn Community Centre – $1,200
- City of Kawartha Lakes – $27,200
- Gooderham Community Action Group – $1,700
- Municipality of Trent Lakes – $2,300
- Township of Algonquin Highlands – $500
- Township of Cavan-Monaghan – $1,000
