News Algonquin Highlands and landfill contractor will start negotiations on a new deal SHARE ON: Kenny Trenton, contributor, Thursday, Dec. 21st, 2017 Algonquin Highlands and its landfill company will begin negotiations on a new deal in 2018. Council and the company managing the landfills agreed to extend the contract until March 31st. Due to the minimum wage rising to $14 an hour on January 1st, it will cost the township over $2,500 more compared to the same period this year.
