Even with decreasing temperatures, the Haliburton County Snowmobile Association is urging riders to avoid the trials.

The H.C.S.A. says even though it is not supposed to be warmer than minus 15 this weekend, the trails it maintains are still fragile.

Director John Enright tells the My Haliburton Now Newsroom that the rain and warmer temperatures from Wednesday and Thursday has negative effects on an already soft trail base.

The association manages and maintains approximately 370 kilometres of sledding trails in the county.
