Carillion’s liquidation will not affect snow removal service in the county

Snowplowing in Haliburton County isn’t going to be disrupted following the collapse of Carillion P.L.C.

The U.K. based construction company announced yesterday it had no choice but to go into liquidation after it couldn’t secure funding to keep operations running.

Carillion Canada holds eight maintenance projects across Ontario, including one in Haliburton which keeps an eye on Highway 118 and Highway 35.

The Ministry of Transportation says the company has assured the province winter maintenance services will continue uninterrupted at this time.

However, the M.T.O. says it is going to look at all of its options in case that situation changes.

The government is planning to meet with Carillion Canada throughout the week and says it will provide updates as they become available.
