Warden Suzanne Partridge and Wardens’ Caucus pushing for improved connectivity

A group of wardens from Eastern Ontario are committed to closing mobile broadband gaps.

Haliburton Warden Suzanne Partridge attended her first Eastern Ontario Wardens’ Caucus meeting last week.

Partridge says she and her colleagues will continue to push the provincial and federal governments for approval for a $299 million project that would close mobile broadband gaps, as well as provide high speed internet to 95 per cent of Eastern Ontario.

Partridge says the lack of internet access to many spots in the county is a major concern.

Partridge adds she and her colleagues from the E.O.W.C. are in Toronto for a conference and will have a chance to meet with provincial ministers and senior staff to make their case.

Partridge adds another priority of the wardens’ caucus is its Eastern Ontario Economic Development Strategy, which she says she is getting up to speed on.
