Algonquin Highlands plans to update its recreation policies

Algonquin Highlands will be changing some of its recreation policies.

Parks, Recreation and Trails Manager Chris Card showed a report to council outlining some anomalies.

One example given was the tai chi program in Dorset, which participants are charged $15.75 per class.

The Oxtongue Lake tai chi class charges $2 per-person.

Mayor Carol Moffatt says an updated recreation policy is needed to make things fair for all groups using township facilities.

One proposal would require that certain programs, such as a Zumba class instructor, would have to enter into an agreement with the township over fees.
