Four men are in stable condition after going through the ice on 12 Mile Lake yesterday.

The incident happened just before 5:00 p.m.

According to the Haliburton Highlands O.P.P. the people took a snowmobile and A.T.V. onto the lake to drill holes for ice fishing.

Three of the males were able to pull themselves out of the water while a bystander pulled the fourth man out with a rope.

All men were taken to the hospital for precautionary reasons.

The O.P.P. is reminding sledders that no ice is safe ice.

The Haliburton Highlands Detachment says if you have to travel on ice, check the conditions before going any further.

The fire departments in Minden Hills and Algonquin Highlands, as well as Haliburton County Paramedic Services were all on the scene.
