Minden Hills is hiring an engineering firm to do an analysis of the township’s roads.

Council is awarding the contract to C.C. Tatham and Associates Ltd. for $99,902.88.

The assessment will help council guide its 10-year asset management plan for the township’s roads.

Approximately 270 kilometres of roads are maintained by Minden.

The study will determine factors such as traffic counts on some roads as well as an analysis of what streets need general maintenance, and which need significant work.

The contract with the engineering firm runs until November 1st.

$110,000 was included in the draft budget for the study.
