Algonquin Highlands receives over $38,000 from O.M.A.F.R.A.

Ontario’s Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs is writing cheques to lower-tier governments.

The money comes from the ministry’s Main Street Funding initiative, which is geared towards improving main street areas of rural communities.

Algonquin Highlands learned last week it will receive $38,035.

Mayor Carol Moffatt says the township is thrilled to receive the money.

Moffatt adds council will decide how to spend that money as it continues budget discussions.
