Haliburton, Kawartha Lakes, Brock M.P. Jamie Schmale says the government’s spending is out of control.

Finance Minister Bill Morneau tabled the 2018 budget yesterday in Parliament and it calls for an over $18 billion deficit for this year and next.

Schmale says future generations will feel the effect of this budget.

Morneau says that investing in Canadians and investing in more jobs will have a positive impact on the economy.

Another aspect of the budget calls for $1.4 billion in financing available for female entrepreneurs.

Schmale says Haliburton County has a shortage of skilled workers so this money will help.

Morneau says another aspect of the budget is give parentswho share parental leave an additional five paid weeks off after a child is born.

Schmale agrees with that and adds parents should be with their kids as much as possible after they are born.
