Youth in Haliburton County will have a place to call their own. Children and Youth Services Minister Michael Coteau announced funding for six youth hub projects with one being in Haliburton. The project will be led by the Point in Time Centre for Youth, Children, and Parents. The amount of money Point in Time will receive is not known at this time, but Executive Director Marg Cox says the news of the funding is a blessing.
Cox also says Haliburton’s youth will have most of the say on what the hub will look like.
Cox says she and other stakeholders are currently searching for the ideal property. Many students who were at the announcement are hopeful it will be near Haliburton Highlands Secondary School.
The centre will be for anyone between 12 and 25-years old.
