Trent Severn Waterway open for the 2018 season

The Trent-Severn Waterway is open for business. Parks Canada announced that the 44 lock stations between Trenton and Port Severn are now open for the summer. According to T.S.W. officials, the canal saw an increase of 30 per cent in boater traffic last year compared to 2016.

The federal government is also offering free lockage days on June 24th as well as on Canada Day and is offering paddling enthusiasts 50 per cent off their lockage permit for the 2018 season. The Trent-Severn Waterway is 386 kilometres long and the closest access points to the county are in Fenelon Falls, Kirkfield, and Buckhorn.
