Canada festivals in Kinmount and Fenelon Falls receive municipal and federal dollars towards event costs

Kinmount and Fenelon Falls will be getting some financial help for their annual Canada Day celebrations. The City of Kawartha Lakes is providing $10,000 to a total of five communities hosting celebrations for our nation’s birthday. According to a media release, this money will be added to the over $27,000 the city received from the Federal Heritage Ministry’s Celebrate Canada Program.

The money will help event organizers with things like fireworks shows, events as well as promotional expenses. The Kimount festivities will include a fireworks display, a barbecue, live music and horse wagon rides. It will be at the Kinmount Fairgrounds on July 1st and admission is free.

Festivals on Omemee, Lindsay, and Bobcaygeon will also receive funding.
