A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect. The watch is for Haliburton, Minden, Southern Haliburton County, Oxtongue Lake, Fort Irwin, and Northern Haliburton County.

Environment Canada says if a storm develops it could bring winds up to 100 km/h, hail, and heavy rain. That’s strong enough wind to toss loose objects, break tree branches, damage weak buildings, and overturn large vehicles.

Thunderstorms can also produce tornadoes. Environment Canada is keeping an eye on the situation and Moose FM will keep you updated.
