It’s going to be a hot Canada Day Long weekend.

In a special weather statement for Haliburton County, Environment Canada says it’ll be sticky as well. That’s because a southwest flow is going to bring hot and humid air up from the Gulf of Mexico.

Starting on Friday or Saturday you can expect daytime highs in the low to mid-thirties, but it’ll feel as high as the mid-forties in some parts. There won’t be any relief at night either, as the temperature is only expected to fall to the low twenties.

Environment Canada says this is likely going to be the most significant heat event of the season so far and could last all the way to the middle of next week.
