OPP lay charges after patrol of waterways in Kawartha Lakes

Kawartha Lakes OPP has laid charges on a pair of boaters after a day-long patrol of lakes and waterways.

July 2nd saw police approaching boats in the area and although many were in compliance with the laws, a 43-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman were both charged.  The man was on Lake Dalrymple, while the woman was boating on Moore Lake.

Both were charged with liquor in an un-lawful location, a charge that comes with a $125.00 fine. OPP will be patrolling waterways all summer and have reiterated that boating while drinking is just as illegal as drunk driving.
