Drunk Driver Charged in Minden

The Haliburton Highlands OPP has laid two charges on a man pulled over in Minden.

An OPP officer pulled over a man shortly after midnight for speeding along Highway 35 in Minden, after talking with the Scugog man, it was discovered that he had been drinking and he then failed a roadside sobriety test.  The man was transported to the Kawartha Lakes detachment of the OPP for additional breath tests.

The 32-year old was charged with driving with over 80mg of alcohol in the bloodstream, and speeding. He is expected in a Minden courthouse September 5th and received a 90-day suspension of his driver’s license.

OPP officials say that if you suspect someone is driving under the influence you can call the local detachment or crime stoppers. if it is an emergency call 911 and alert them to the location of the vehicle.
