An extreme thunderstorm watch is in place for Haliburton this afternoon.
Environment Canada warns a storm that has the potential to bring torrential rain and heavy winds is coming into the district. Some areas could see downed trees and power outages due to the strong wind. Early forecasts predict the storm could hit the district by about 2pm this afternoon.
