Highland Yard Race to Extend Registration

The 47th running of the Highland Yard is hoping to get as many people as possible.

Places for People, the organization behind the annual race, says that they have extended the online registration until 11:59 pm on August 3rd.

The goal of the annual race is to raise funds for Places for People, which works towards creating affordable rental housing in Haliburton County. The races will include a 2K, 5K, and a 10K with 98 per cent of the proceeds going to purchasing, renovating and maintaining housing in the county.

Participants who register online before the race can save $5 if they do so. Registration costs range from $15 for an individual in the 2K walk or run, to $160 for a team entered in the 10K.  The races themselves go on Sunday, August 5th starting at the River Cone in Minden.

You can find more information about the race at the Highland Yard’s website.
