The Haliburton Youth Hub is looking to share sundaes and information in one event.
The hub, which opened it’s doors last month is hosting an ice cream social Thursday. Between 1-3:00 pm young people aged 12-25 are encouraged to go to the Youth Hub and enjoy sundaes and get some information on what the hub does for and with the young people around the county.
Social isolation and boredom are the main factors behind Point in Time and a handful of young people in the area forming the Youth Hub. A space geared to let teens and young adults go and hang out with other people their age, play guitar, video games, pool, or whatever they might like to do.
Some teens and parents in the area believe that the social isolation here makes it hard for young people to want to live in the area.
