Head Lake Park is the host site of the first ever Haliburton Ribfest.
Friday to Sunday, Haliburton Village will be cascaded in the smell of barbecue and other foods. Rib-masters from Alabama are coming up the Haliburton County for the event, the rib-masters travel as part of a circuit that goes across North America cooking ribs and competing to have the best ribs. Ribs aren’t the only item on the menu, there will be corn dogs, roasted corn, poutine and funnel cakes.
The event will also see a variety of bands taking the stage to entertain attendees, including tribute bands to Toby Keith, Blue Rodeo, Bob Marley, and the Tragically Hip. Local artists Wescali and Northbourne are set to play Saturday and Sunday respectively.
A portion of the proceeds are going to the skate park fundraiser.
