The City of Kawartha Lakes has approved a Community Improvement Plan.
The plan is designed to provide a variety of financial incentives, used to make aestheticĀ and functional improvements to commercial, mixed-use, and residential properties in the city.
The C.I.P. will provide grants, loans, and tax breaks to eligible property and business owners. Kawartha Lakes Mayor Andy Letham says “the C.I.P. is an important commitment and investment to our downtowns as our community hubs”
Denise Williams the acting Manager of Economic Development says that the C.I.P. ‘is an important tool that the city can use to support business growth and retention.
Although incentives are a big part of the C.I.P. the exactĀ dollar amount has yet to be decided, Kawartha Lakes Council will decide at a later date.
