Haliburton Terry Fox Run celebrates 33 years

Haliburton County was successful in fundraising close to 30 thousand dollars for Terry Fox last year, and Walter Tose couldn’t be happier. He’s the chief organizer for Haliburton’s Terry Fox Run, which has been going on since the Terry Fox Run first began.

Tose says the support from local organizations through promotions and advertising means a lot in making the event happen. Haliburton’s run has between 80 and 100 participants every year and about 20 volunteers. Tose says he can’t thank his volunteers enough for their hard work and dedication.

He’s encouraging anyone to come out the day of and bring a donation as pre-registration isn’t required to participate.  The 33rd annual run will take place at the town docks Sunday September 14. Registration is at 11:30 and the run starts at noon. Participants run the Head Lake loop and can walk, run, or cycle.
