Now is your chance to find out about recreation and leisure programs in Haliburton. Andrea Mueller is the Pilot Recreation Coordinator for Dysart et al and she’s holding a Leisure Mart.
Local organizations and programs will be at the AJ La Rue arena for people to stop and get more information about what is offered, or to pre-register. Mueller says there will be something for everyone with over 35 booths so far.
She’s hoping this will help raise awareness about programs offered and will help get more business to the organizers.She says people can still get a spot to showcase their program by calling her at the Dysart Municipal office.
Leisure Mart will include programs that are offered across the County. Mueller also says her hope is to create a database of programs offered so people are aware of what they can sign up for every year. If this goes well, she plans to hold another one in the spring to showcase the spring and summer programs.
Anyone interested in finding out about the programs available this fall and winter can go to the AJ La Rue Arena from 4:00 – 7:00 on Friday. More information can be found on the Dysart website.
Mueller says she will be looking for feedback from people about what they liked or didn’t like about it to help it run better next time.
