OHTO Tourism Summit Stopping in Haliburton County

The Ontario Highlands Tourism Organization has partnered with Haliburton County for this year’s Tourism Summit.

OHTO is coming to Bark Lake for the eighth annual OH! Tourism Summit. OHTO is a network of six separate tourism departments including Haliburton County, Hastings County, Frontenac County, Lanark County, Lennox Addington, and Ottawa Valley.

Amanda Virtanen, the Director of Tourism for Haliburton County, says that every year OHTO will travel to one of the regions in their network for the annual conference.

The theme for this year’s conference is Rave Reviews: How Cultivating a Destination Experience Mindset Can Amplify Your Most Powerful Marketing Tool. Attendees are expected to go over the power that word of mouth has in tourism and the importance of connecting with an individual’s specific interests. People in attendance are also expected to go through the idea of offering people “impactful experiences.”
