Dysart et al has approved the use of Old Haliburton Road by Solar Flow-Through Funds.
Solar Flow-Through Funds is an organization dedicated to renewable energy. They are hoping to build a small solar farm in West Guilford. Earlier today Dysart council gave the approval for Solar Flow-Through to get the minimum road allowance letting the company use 800 metres of the road for construction and access to the potential site.
According to a report shown to the council, the road will not be used through the snowmobile season.
The project would have workers using Old Haliburton Road daily for the estimated eight-week construction period. That is on top of the use of the road when they begin clearing five acres of trees this fall. According to Solar Flow-Through, the project will provide $6,000 a year in lease revenue for the municipality.
Dysart council previously gave their support for the project in May of 2015 through the IESO FIT Project contract.
