Company and driver charged in Algonquin Park crash that sent one to hospital

A company and its driver are facing charges in relation to a crash in Algonquin Park.

Killaloe OPP is charging Algonquin Park Services with fail to ensure performance standards met, fail to supply driver with daily inspection schedule, fail to ensure daily inspection report accurately completed and drive commercial motor vehicle with major defect.

A 60-year-old Newmarket man is charged with fail to surrender completed daily inspection report, drive commercial motor vehicle without required inspection, turn not in safety and no brake lights, commercial motor vehicle.

In late September, a pick-up truck collided with a motorcycle on Highway 60 near the East Gate of the park. The motorcyclist was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
